An article in the Jewish Chronicle 13 Sep 1893 gives the Hebrew inscription as Joel son of Isaac died 17th Kislev 5617 aged 88, and the English as : Joel Isaacs who died Dec 6th 1846 aged 98 years. NB. the article points out the descrepancy in the ages stated.
