From the Hebrew inscription:
..his name was known, [?] many [?] Yaacov Ze'ev b Yisrael
[?] beadle and trustee of the [?] holy congregation
who with the living and the dead [acted?] with kindness and truth. Passed away Sunday [illegible] Shevat and was buried on Monday, Rosh Hodesh, Shevat in the year "in mercy will be accepted."
The phrase "in mercy will be accepted" comes from the Penitentional prayers of Yom Kippur and the gematria of the Hebrew word "accepted - Tekabel" is 532.
NB: The inscription states he died on "Sunday [illegible] Shevat and was buried on Monday, Rosh Hodesh, Shevat (Jan 6, 1772)." But the date of the Sunday he died was 29th Tevet and not a day in Shevat.
