- Inscription: In Memory of Lemon Woolf aged 65 years.
From the Hebrew inscription: A man of faithfulness, Parnass and Leader [the use of this abreviated Hebrew expression on stones is noted by Susser] who walked in ways of the [or that were] good; 'righteous and upright [Deuteronomy 32:4]'; bold as a lion and running like a hind to the sound of Torah and Prayers, morning and evening [a mix of well-known phrases from the Mishna]. His house was wide open [an error in the tense of the Hebrew word Bayit = house] [two words indecipherable] the hungry. [Two words indecipherable] The holy ones who are in the ground and soul in the Garden of Eden. His honour, Parnass and Leader, 'a gold [crown] on his head' [Psalms 21:3]. Parnass and Leader, Mr Chaim. Passed away 9th Adar II and buried on the 10th in the year 5605. [Tuesday, March 18, 1845]
