Obituary to Madame Jacob of Brighton Jewish Chronicle 16.7.1886 In our last week's issue appeared an announcement of the death of Madame Jacob of Brighton at the age of 97 years. She was an old resident of that town, where she was widely known for her charitable deeds which were extended alike to Jew and Christian. It is nearly thirty one years ago since her late husband was killed by a horse one Friday afternoon while on his way to synagogue. Madame Jacob having died in London, her body was removed on the 4th to Brighton (by her express wish), where it was met by a large number of residents who escorted the remains to the cemetery. By Dr. L. Loew's direction prayers will be said in memory of the deceased for eleven months by a Rabbi in Hebron [she had no sons to say kaddish, but three daughters]
