- Inscription: David Mocatta who departed this life May 1st 1882 in the 76th year of his age.
He was one of the first among the Jews who devoted himself to a professional career and was a member of the institute of British Architects. He was endowed with superior mental gifts and took part in all the progressive movements of the age. He was one of the Founders of the West London Synagogue of British Jews and the President of its council at the time of his death. His high culture, general disposition, social qualities and great refinement caused him to be beloved and esteemed by a large circle of relatives and friends.
